Perry
Perry started Seniors Holiday Travel back in 1998, while working for Traveltrain in Queensland Rain, and he asked his Mum, Wendy, why she didn't use her free rail vouchers to go to Cairns on the Sunlander for a holiday. Her response was: 'Where do you stay, where do you eat, what tours do you choose?' Other pensioners had the same response, so Perry started Seniors Holiday Travel to put together travel and tours for seniors.
Perry's love of travel dates back many years, including driving in a Renault 12 from Brisbane out to the Red Centre (camping at Ayers Rock at minus six degrees) in 1976, going 4WD camping up to the very top of Cape York in 1977, spending fifteen months in the UK and Europe from November 1978 and visiting Thailand in 1988.
He's also taken his family, wife Joan, and twin daughters Emma and Elissa, who are currently 15 years old (GULP!), to western Canada in September 2001 (yes, 'that' September 2001), to the UK and Europe including Europe River Cruising in November 2006, and to Los Angeles, where ELISSA danced at Disneyworld, and Las Vegas in April 2008.
Perry has two business degrees and does all the 'boring accounting things'; he also writes the quarterly newsletter and the weekly email newsletters, and works hard with Seniors Holiday Travel's selected wholesalers to make sure that our club members get special deals on great products, particularly our famous ESCORTED group tours, which were originally only to Cairns, but are now travelling to many places around the world.
